Whitney Eve Port (born March 4, 1985) [2] is part of the MTV reality television series The Hills.[3] She is a former fashion contributor for Teen Vogue, and is soon set to star in her own reality series The City.

Port was born and raised in Los Angeles, California where she currently resides. She is the daughter of Jeffery and Vicki Lyn Port (née Woskoff). She is the second youngest of five brothers and sisters. Her father, Jeff, is the owner of a fashion company called Swarm. [4]

Whitney attended Warner Avenue Elementary school and was the school President in the 5th grade, while her sister Paige was school Secretary that same year. She then went to Crossroads School (Santa Monica, California) for the Arts and Sciences for middle school and high school.

In 2007, Whitney graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with a degree in gender studies.

In a recent interview in Teen Vogue with Lauren Conrad, Whitney said that Lauren and Audrina Patridge had invited her to move in their apartment, but she declined the offer.[citation needed]

As of 2007, Whitney's parents, her brother, Ryan, her sisters, Paige, Jade and Ashley, also live in Los Angeles, California.[5]

Whitney is currently dating Ben King, of the Queanbeyan-based band, Tamarama.[6]

Before working at Teen Vogue, Whitney was an intern for Women's Wear Daily magazine for two summers.

The final episode of season two showed Whitney interviewing at Vogue headquarters in New York, New York for the position of "Fashion Contributor" at Teen Vogue. The episode dramatized the competition between Whitney and another young woman, Emily Weiss, who had previously appeared in season two as an intern visiting from New York. It was revealed in the season premiere of season three that Whitney was awarded the job, and was employed by Teen Vogue in Los Angeles.

Whitney is now employed by The Peoples Revolution, a PR firm heavily involved in the fashion world. Owned by Kelly Cutrone, The Peoples Revolution has offices in New York, Los Angeles and Paris. Lauren Conrad was seen in season 3 episode 24 of The Hills assisting Whitney at L.A. Fashion week, and at the end of the episode was offered, and accepted, a position at The Peoples Revolution alongside Whitney.

In episode six of the first season, Port had her first experience as a runway model. She walked in a DKNY Jeans show at Los Angeles Fashion Week.[3]

Whitney again plays the role of model in episode eleven, when she appears on a Good Morning America segment with André Leon Talley the editor-at-large of Vogue magazine. When modeling Hilary Swank's dress from the 2005 Academy Awards, Whitney tripped and fell during the live televised segment, but composed herself after the slip. Lisa Love, a Teen Vogue editor and Whitney's supervisor, praised her for handling the incident with class and grace under fire.[5]

In March 2008, Whitney debuted her clothing line of cocktail and partywear called Eve & A.

Whitney Port has been featured on seasons one, two, three, and four of The Hills. For the most part she appears in the context of her internship at Teen Vogue. Whitney has said specifically in two episodes of the MTV Canada Aftershow that she prefers to leave her personal life, including her year-long relationship, unaired.

At the end of The Hills season one, Teen Vogue offered Lauren the opportunity to spend the summer of 2006 working in Paris, France.[3] When Lauren chose not to take the job, Whitney went to Paris in her place.[5]

On the second season of The Hills, Whitney appeared somewhat more frequently outside the workplace setting. In episode five, Lauren visited Whitney at her parents' home where she was recuperating from surgery after having her wisdom teeth removed. In another episode, Lauren and Audrina Patridge (another The Hills participant) attended Whitney's softball game.[5]

Episode eight of season two featured Whitney's younger sister Jade as a model in a Teen Vogue fashion photo shoot.

In season three of The Hills, Whitney had broken up with her boyfriend, dated new men, and dealt with Lauren's drama. She soon stepped out on her two feet and left Teen Vogue, to The People's Revolution, soon Lauren was offered her same job title and now they once again work together. [7]

After months of speculation it has been confirmed that Port will receive her own spin-off from The Hills entitled The City [8] . The series will center around Port as she moves to New York City to work for fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg [9][10]. Filming will start immediately. The series will debut December 29, 2008 on MTV.

Port also appeared on a 2008 episode of the HBO series Entourage as herself.
