Wim Boost

Willem Louis Joseph Boost (July 2, 1918, Breda - August 1, 2005, Breukelen), was a Dutch cartoonist, using the alias WiBo.

Boost (pronounced "boast") started his career as a drawing teacher, and then started to work for the Toonder studios. He worked for several journals and newspapers including the Jeugdkampioen, Het Lichtspoor, Mandril (1948-???), Haagse Post (1952-1955), Studio (1963-1965), and probably most noteworthy, the Dutch national newspaper de Volkskrant, for which he worked from 1951 until 1985. For many years he made a daily cartoon for the front page of the latter newspaper.
