[edit] Youth and college

Davies attended the Brooks School, graduating in 2004. At Brooks, Davies also starred in wrestling, earning National Prep All-American his senior season. After prep school Davies attended Boston College, where he starred for the Eagles for three seasons. He was a standout player in college, establishing himself as a good professional prospect and potential high-round MLS draft pick.[2] He was a finalist for the 2006 Hermann Trophy, the soccer equivalent of the Heisman Trophy, after his junior season. During his college years he also played with Westchester Flames of the USL Premier Development League.

[edit] Professional career

Rather than finishing his degree or signing with MLS Davies signed a contract with Swedish club Hammarby IF.[2] While he immediately broke into the starting lineup he also had trouble finishing, and he spent the year split between starting and acting as a frequent substitute. On 2007-06-24 Davies netted his first goal in club play, the game-winner for Hammarby, over Faroese club Klaksvik in first round of the Intertoto Cup, but he was still unable to find the net in league play. However, in the final match of the 2007 season Davies scored a hat-trick against GAIS to go into the offseason on a positive note. In the 2008 season he has scored 10 goals in 19 games.

[edit] International

Davies featured 10 times, mostly as a substitute, for the US U-20 team, but did not make the roster for the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship.

He made his debut for the senior US team on 2007-06-02 as a substitute in a 4-1 friendly match victory over China in San Jose, California. He was named to the 22-man squad that took part in the Copa América 2007 in Venezuela. He was named to the 18-man roster for the 2008 Summer Olympics, making one appearance as a substitute against Nigeria.
