Program notes writer, Doug Briscoe

Doug Briscoe's radio career began in 1977, when he almost simultaneously became weekend overnight host at WGBH and Sunday host at WCRB. From 1981 to 1987, Briscoe was host of WBUR's Saturday afternoon classical music program, while continuing work at the other two radio stations. In 1993, Briscoe became host of WGBH 89.7's weekday morning classical music program. After a brief hiatus from radio, Briscoe rejoined WGBH as host and producer of Classical Weekend in June 2000, where he can occasionally be heard as a classical announcer on WGBH-FM 89.7. Briscoe holds a B.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts at Boston.
