Image:Northwest-relief_AlsekRanges.pngThe '''Alsek Ranges''' are the southeasternmost subdivision of the Saint_Elias_Mountains of the Pacific_Cordillera. They span the region between the Alsek_River, Glacier_Bay and the Kelsall_River (which is the route of the highway from Haines,_Alaska to Haines_Junction,_Yukon). Their western boundary is the Grand Pacific Glacier, beyond which is the Fairweather_Range, another subdivision of the St. Elias Mountains. To their east is the northernmost section of the Boundary_Ranges, which run south to the Nass_River and form, as their name indicates, the spine of the boundary between the American state of Alaska and the Canadian_province of British_Columbia. All of the British Columbia portion of the Alsek Ranges are in the Tatshenshini-Alsek_Park, but is also the location of the controversial Windy_Craggy_Mine proposal. Most of the Alaskan portion between the Lynn_Canal and Glacier Bay is part of Glacier_Bay_National_Monument, and most of the Yukon portion is in Kluane_National_Park.
