An arranged marriage ended in murder when a wife and her lover stabbed her husband to death, a court heard yesterday.
Yasira Pervez, 24, and Ian Priddle, 46, are accused of flying to Pakistan and luring Khurrum Mukhtar to a hotel room.
There Mr Mukhtar, 22, was allegedly stabbed in the chest and stomach with a seven- inch butcher's knife.

He was found by hotel staff and bled to death on his way to hospital.
Yesterday, his widow Pervez and her lover Priddle appeared in court charged with murder.
Peter Wright, QC, prosecuting, said: 'Khurrum Mukhtar was lured to his death by his wife Yasira Pervez. She made arrangements to meet him in a hotel bedroom that afternoon.
'She stipulated that he be alone. She arrived at the hotel in the company of Ian Priddle. One of them was carrying a knife.
'Soon after their arrival Khurrum Mukhtar sustained two stab wounds to his chest and abdomen respectively from which he died soon after. Yasira Pervez blames Ian Priddle. Ian Priddle denies that he was present. We say they are jointly responsible.'
Manchester Crown Court heard that English-born Pervez had wed her cousin in an arranged marriage at his village in Pakistan in 2005.
She returned to her home in Accrington, Lancashire, alone as her new husband was waiting for the documentation to secure residence in the UK.
However, once back in Britain Pervez met Priddle, a divorcee who was working at the same print finishing company.

Mr Wright said the pair became involved in a relationship in 2006 and set up in business together, running a branch of Happy Shopper in Blackburn.
In December of that year, the lovers hastily arranged a trip to Islamabad in Pakistan and flew out on Christmas Eve.
They checked into the city's Four Seasons Hotel and five days later Pervez called her husband on his mobile phone and arranged to meet him at the Comfort Inn in Rawalpindi.
Pervez told her husband the meeting was to be secret, Mr Wright told the jury.
Arshad Mahmood, a waiter at the Comfort Inn, saw Mr Mukhtar with an Asian-looking woman and a white man in his 40s - both wearing dark caps and dark glasses - walking towards Room 109 in the hotel.
Mr Wright said: 'Arshad Mahmood saw them enter the room. He left the hotel for a brief period and as he returned he saw the female and the white male running from Room 109.
'As he arrived he saw the door was open and that Khurrum Mukhtar was lying partly on the bed and partly on the floor.
'He appeared to have two injuries to his front and was bleeding heavily.'
Mr Mukhtar was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors attempted to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead. Pervez and Priddle subsequently boarded a flight from Islamabad to Manchester.
They were arrested as they walked towards passport control in Manchester after detectives in Pakistan alerted the UK police.
Priddle, of Haslingden, Lancashire, and Pervez deny murder. The trial continues.
