Holders handed Czech challenge
UEFA European Under-17 Championship holders Spain will continue their bid for a third consecutive title against the Czech Republic, Belgium and Kazakhstan after the Elite round draw was held in Nyon on Thursday.
Spain open with Romania test
Spain, UEFA European Under-17 Championship winners in 2007 and 2008, will begin their 2009/10 bid against Romania, Lithuania and the Faroe Islands after the qualifying round draw was made in Nyon, Switzerland.
Champions could face U17 final rivals
UEFA European Under-17 Championship holders Spain could face rematches with the nations they beat in the last two finals, France and England, when the 2008/09 Elite round draw is made on 4 December.
Entrants looking to Liechtenstein
A trip to the 2009/10 UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals in Liechtenstein is the ambition of the 52 nations involved in the qualifying round draw at 16.00CET on 3 December in Nyon.
Georgia and Kazakhstan complete U17 Elite
Georgia and Kazakhstan have taken the last available berths in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship Elite round alongside the likes of holders Spain after being confirmed as the two best third-placed teams.
