The process of recruiting the 800 volunteers to help out at UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2009™ in Finland next summer has begun.
Unique experience
Helsinki, Lahti, Tampere and Turku will be the venues for the tournament from 23 August to 10 September 2009. Volunteers will get an insight into what goes on behind the scenes at a major event and be part of the largest sports event of the year in Finland, a unique experience.
Criteria
Volunteers will help in various crucial sectors at the finals, including media, transport, logistics and hospitality. Candidates must be aged 18 or over and should speak English. Other language skills, such as Finnish or a language of one of the other competing nations, are considered beneficial. Previous volunteering experience is not essential but could be an asset in certain areas.

Nearly 18,000 people applied to be a volunteer at UEFA EURO 2008™ in Austria and Switzerland. Anyone who wishes to work as a volunteer must apply via email at juha.tuominen@weuro2009.palloliitto.fi. The application phase lasts until 15 June 2009.
