Rosenborg rally past NAC
Sunday 27 July 2008Rosenborg BK booked their place in the UEFA Cup second qualifying round as they became Norway's first UEFA Intertoto Cup winners at the expense of NAC Breda.
Iversen winner
The Dutch side travelled to Norway 1-0 up after last week's first leg but Rosenborg were dominant and were rewarded in the 34th minute with a ferocious shot from Fredrik Stoor, making his farewell appearance for the Trondheim club before his expected move to Fulham FC. A man that spent seven years in London after his own move from Rosenborg to Tottenham Hotspur FC in 1996, Steffen Iversen, then gave the home team the lead five minutes into the second half as he converted a penalty following a foul on Didier Konan Ya. NAC pressed for the away goal that would have taken them into Friday's UEFA Cup draw but were kept out despite Rosenborg having Vadim Demidov sent off for time-wasting near the end.
