FC Internazionale Milano won for the sixth match in succession 3-0 at S.S. Lazio to stretch their lead at the top of Serie A while Jérémy Menez's strike ensured AS Roma's resurgence continued with a 1-0 victory at AC Chievo Verona in Saturday's other match.

Nine-point lead
The Nerazzurri took the lead in the second minute when Walter Samuel headed in Sulley Muntari's cross from the left and they made it two just before the interval when Lazio defender Mobido Diakité deflected Maicon's low cross into his own net. Ten minutes after the interval Zlatan Ibrahimović headed in Esteban Cambiasso's free-kick from the right to seal a win that takes Inter nine points clear of second-placed Juventus ahead of their trip to UC Lecce on Sunday.

'Fantastic spirit'
"We're a strong side and these players have a fantastic spirit," Inter coach José Mourinho said. "The whole group is doing well, not just the eleven players on the pitch. The race for the Scudetto is long and still open, but I can say this team has all they need to go all the way. We're in good shape and full of confidence, this really is a good period for us."

Resurgence
Roma won their fourth Serie A match in a row to climb to 14th as Jérémy Menez's 69th-minute strike earned all three points at Chievo. The Giallorossi dominated and both Matteo Brighi and Júlio Baptista wasted excellent opportunities before the French forward scored the game's only goal with a precise right-foot volley. Roma controlled the remainder of the match despite finishing with ten men following the dismissal of Brighi with five minutes left. "Menez has great skills," Roma coach Luciano Spalletti said after his side eased their relegation fears with their fifth win of the campaign. "He just needs to play more for the team and today he did that brilliantly."
