Ukraine continued to set the pace in UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2009™ qualifying Group 5 with their third win in as many fixtures.

Good start
Having already seen off Scotland here in Mariupol last month and also won 4-0 in Slovakia in their first qualifier, the omens were good for Ukraine. Svitlana Frisco pounced on a defensive error to round her marker and lob the ball into the net early on and Nataliya Zinchenko made it 2-0 on 16 minutes from a penalty. Slovakia were unsettled and after Zinchenko rattled the bar with a blistering 30-metre effort, Lyudmyla Pekur slotted in the rebound.

Win sealed
Heavy rain fell during the break but it did not bother the home side who began the second half brightly and scored through Elena Hodyreva, who connected well with a cross. Ukraine did not slow down the pace and soon Frisco scored her second of the night after Zinchenko made her way past several defenders and produced a pin-point pass for her striking partner to tap into an empty goal. Ukraine's next qualifier is next February, by which time top seeds Denmark will have opened their campaign. Slovakia, who lie second with three points from as many games, welcome Scotland on 27 October.
