Bundesliga leaders TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have signed former Germany goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand as a free agent, with the 29-year-old set to join his new club in January 2009, following his release by Spanish side Valencia CF.

Official confirmation
The club confirmed rumours of a transfer with an official press release this morning. Hildebrand, who was at Hoffenheim's Baden-Wurttemberg rivals VfB Stuttgart between 1997 and 2007 winning the Bundesliga title in his final season there, joined Valencia in summer of last year but failed to establish himself at the Mestalla Stadium. The seven-times capped Hildebrand and Valencia agreed to dissolve their contract by mutual consent on 4 December.
