Ghetto doctor with sideburns falls for one of his new assistants--who is really a nun away from the convent! Sure it's terrible, but it's got Elvis and he's wonderful singing to a little girl on a carousel(in a UT Memphis sweatshirt)or playing football with Mary Tyler Moore and the inner-city kids in the park(probably the most natural Elvis had been on screen in years). Presley's presence makes this movie significant, although even his ardent fans tend to admit it's one of his more banal efforts. ** out of ****.
