Beirut, Clap Your Hands Play Sounds Like Brooklyn Fest

Hear that? The faint crackling of needle on vinyl, the bray of new condo development, the rustling of legs encased in skinny jeans? Why, it all sounds a little like Brooklyn to me.

But it doesn't sound nearly so much like the au courant borough as the music of residents Beirut, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Chairlift, Kaki King, Bear in Heaven, and Japanther, who make up a good bit of the bill at the Sounds Like Brooklyn Festival.

All the good stuff goes down at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and a baker's dozen other BK venues February 6-7 and 12-14.
