Congratulations Con Donaldson, you are the CollectionDX contest winner!
Hi Dan, I just wanted to write a story about my favorite Christmas toy that
I ever received.
When I was in kindergarten, three days before Christmas my father died in a
Car Accident. He had already wrapped up all his presents with my mom the
weeks before. On Christmas day no one was smiling, every one was quiet, we
were all dressed in black and sitting around in the living room. Well, I
guess we should start opening presents my mom said before she got up. She
slowly walked over to the tree, pushed some presents aside and pulled out a
small package and handed it to me. Here Connor she said to me, Your father
wanted you to have this. I was little and I don't think I really understood
why he was gone, but I shredded open the package and found what is still to
this day one of my favorite toys ever. Inside was a Power Rangers Turbo
figure. But not any figure, my favorite character the Blue Senturion! What I
loved about this toy is that you could transform him into a car, and he had
this big translucent pinkish red shield. I loved this toy so much, I slept
with it and always thought of it to be like my guardian. I have no picture
of me with Senturion because two or three years after I had him, he broke.
His arms and his legs broke from to much wear and tear and all of the little
plastic weapons got lost. My grandfather took the pink shield as a way to
remember how much I look like my father.
Thanks for spending the time to read my story Dan. Christmas is never an
easy time for my family because of the anniversary of my father's passing,
but thinking about how proud he would be if he was still here to see us
makes it all the better.
I hope you have a very merry Holiday Dan, and every one at CollectionDX.
sniff... You too Con.
Thank you Con, and to all that entered our Christmas contest.
Happy Holidays,
Josh, Dan and all the staff at CollectionDX
GNU-DOU lineup.
