UEFA has awarded the media rights in Bulgaria for both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League for the seasons 2009-2012.

Package
Free-to-air broadcaster TV2 (part of CME, the Central European Media Enterprises Group) has won a package of rights which will entitle it to show the first-choice live match on a Tuesday and a Wednesday in addition to a highlights package every UEFA Champions League matchnight. Diema and Viasat Sport (part of the Modern Times Group) have been awarded the live match rights to all remaining UEFA Champions League games. The UEFA Champions League media rights for 2009-12 include the 2009, 2010 and 2011 UEFA Super Cups.

Internet
Meanwhile, public broadcaster BNT will be UEFA's partner for the UEFA Europa League. BNT has won the rights to show the first-choice live match and a highlights programme each matchweek, to be screened on BNT 1. TV2 and Ring TV (also part of the CME Group) have been awarded the remaining live matches in the UEFA Europa League as well as a highlights programme each matchweek. Fans in Bulgaria during this cycle will also have access to the very best of European club football on the internet via the partners' websites.

'Great news'
Commenting on the award of these rights, UEFA said: "UEFA is delighted to announce these rights deals which represent great news for football fans in Bulgaria. The UEFA Champions League deals with TV2 and Diema will ensure fantastic free-to air exposure for the competition. For the UEFA Europa League, UEFA is pleased to welcome back BNT to the competition in its new revised format. At the same time, UEFA is excited at the prospect of developing new partnerships with TV2 and Ring TV. These deals deliver a combination of programming that ensures unparalleled access to the competition in Bulgaria.

'Valued partner'
"Finally, UEFA wishes to thank BTV, who after the current season, will no longer be UEFA's Champions League broadcaster in Bulgaria. They have been a valued partner of UEFA and have done an excellent job of broadcasting the UEFA Champions League."
