The English National Football Museum in Preston is continuing to play host to UEFA's Jubilee exhibition.

Great players
The exhibition tells the story in words and pictures of UEFA since its birth in the Swiss city of Basel in June 1954, highlighting the competitions and great players of the past five decades, and includes a wealth of fascinating mementoes and souvenirs. The exhibition particularly focuses on the invaluable grassroots work the organisation does in ensuring the continued growth and success of European football at all levels.

Brussels stay
The European parliament in Brussels played host to the exhibition last autumn, before it moved to the Roi Baudouin stadium in the Belgian capital and, subsequently, the north-west of England.

Museum memorabilia
The National Football Museum has provided UEFA with all manner of accompanying memorabilia, which includes old shirts, match programmes, a pair of 19th century shinpads, and football boots endorsed by Tom Finney, the legendary Preston North End FC and England winger of the 1940s and 1950s.

Tremendous honour
"To be asked by UEFA to contribute to their Jubilee celebrations is a tremendous honour for the museum," said museum spokesman Richard Cuthbert. "It really is further testament to the excellent international reputation of the National Football Museum as one of the world's leading sports museums backed by an expert exhibition design team."

Spring run
The exhibition will be on display at the National Football Museum until UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2005™ takes place in the region in June. Like the rest of the National Football Museum, the special exhibition is free to enter. The opening times for the UEFA Jubilee Exhibition are Tuesday to Sunday between 13.00 and 16.00GMT, although times may be subject to change on Preston matchdays.
