Welcome to Drexel Rec Sports!

Mission
The Mission of the Drexel Athletic Department is "To Generate Drexel Pride Through Athletic Excellence" and one of our Operating Principles is to "Introduce sports and exercise into the fabric of the collegiate experience."  With this as our guide, the recreational sports program strives to provide opportunities, in the form of programs, services and facilities, which meet the needs and desires of the Drexel University campus. We aim to provide activities for fun and fitness that promote competitive and cooperative play, to provide student development and leadership opportunities and to promote sportsmanship and participation. We strive to create an environment that promotes socialization and friendships in a safe, fun, collegiate setting.  It is our mission to ensure that participation in recreational sports is a positive aspect of the Drexel University experience!

Core Values
Leadership
Students will learn about commitment, responsibility, ambition and will gain confidence and competence which will enable them to become effective leaders. Students will serve as role models and mentors for their peers.
Development
Students will develop valuable intrapersonal & interpersonal skills such as goal setting, healthy choices and positive relationships and will utilize  the college experience to succeed and grow both in and out of the classroom.  The recreational experience is about personal dimensions of  wellness, developing both mind and body and experiential learning. The  professional staff is committed to professional growth and offering state of the art programs and services for the campus and to the recognition and development of our staff
and students.
Teamwork
Students will learn about diversity- diversity of programs and environments and interacting with diverse people. Students will learn  how to effectively communicate, problem-solve and most importantly how to collaborate with others to achieve agreed upon goals.
Sportsmanship
Students learn how to exhibit and develop character through play & work. Students will learn how about respect- respect for teammates, opponents, co-workers, fellow recreation participants and staff.
