Local sources of help and advice

If you feel you may have been discriminated against, or are looking for advice and information on race equality, there are other organisations besides the CRE who may be able to help.

The CRE funds a number of racial equality councils (RECs) across England, Scotland and Wales through our Getting Results funding programme. The range of services provided by individual RECs varies, but all will be able to provide you with information and advice about your rights, and may also offer legal assistance where appropriate.

Racial equality councils also provide training for local businesses on racial equality, organise local workshops and cultural events, and work with local service providers, including councils, police and schools, to help ensure that the needs of all sections of the community are taken into account in local decision-making.

As well as RECs, there are also many other organisations who may be able to help you, whether you are an individual, an employer, or a provider of local services.
