CRE calls for greater leadership as figures show increase in ethnic minority pupils in Scotland’s schools

Commenting on Scottish Executive figures which show a 5% increase in the number of non-white ethnic minority pupils in Scotland's schools over the last year, CRE Scotland's interim director Ali Jarvis warned that "schools, colleges and universities are not doing enough to ensure that our young people are at ease with diversity and that every student is able to fully contribute to Scotland's future economic and social life."

As the CRE launches its manifesto for the next Scottish Parliament, new research shows that Scotland's diverse voters are united in what they want from their politicians. The research, which will be outlined at the CRE's manifesto launch today, examined the motivations and barriers to political participation across different ethnic groups in Scotland.
