The CRE has published three separate equality schemes which set out our aims and the practical ways in which we plan to meet our duties under the Race Relations Act 1976, the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, and the Sex Discrimination Act 1975.
The CRE's second race equality scheme was published in 2005. We report every year on the progress we have made (see Appendix 5 of our 2005 Annual Report, which you can download from the right-hand column of this page), and the whole scheme was reviewed in 2005.
Our first disability equality scheme was published in December 2006. It describes our strategy for meeting the statutory general duty and the specific duties from December 2006 to October 2007, and includes a timetabled action plan.
This scheme states the CRE's commitment to making gender equality integral to all our functions, services and policies. The final version was published on 27 April 2007. The scheme covers the period up to October 2007, when the CRE will be replaced by the Commission for Equality and Human Rights (CEHR).
The CRE's employment monitoring data
As a public authority listed under schedule 1A of the Race Relations Act 1976, as amended, the CRE is required to monitor their employment functions and policies for any adverse impact on race equality, and to make the results of their monitoring publicly available.
We have published its own employment monitoring data for 2006, which you can download here:
