News in Brief: Broken Social Scene, Glasvegas, Harvest of Hope, Anni Rossi

-- Dallas Broken Social Scene fans, this is not your day. The Canadian indie rock powerhouse just canceled their show at Dallas's House of Blues tonight, January 30, due to illness. Please don't blame the messenger. Refunds and rescheduling info will be posted on the band's site. The current BSS tour-- in support of Something for All of Us...-- will run as scheduled for a few more weeks before finishing up at Florida's Harvest of Hope Fest...

-- ...speaking of Harvest of Hope, the three-day St. Augustine, Florida festival taking place March 6-8 just added a bunch of new acts to a lineup that already includes the National, Girl Talk and Bad Brains. Names you may care about: GZA, Kool Keith, Diplo, Deerhunter, and a group called Religious as Fuck, which seems like a contradiction of terms. Full lineup and more details at the Harvest of Hope site.

-- Ambitious Scottish rockers Glasvegas make everything seem epically melodramatic-- a trip to the corner store turns into a lovelorn battle between righteousness and evil with this band streaming from the headphones. So if they make everyday nonsense so huge, they can probably make a big rock show that much more of an Event, too. Americans will get their chance to see the group on their largest U.S. tour to date, which starts down in Texas at SXSW in March and runs through Coachella in April. They're currently making their way through Europe and recently found time to play few songs on AOL's "Interface" program. Soak in the grandeur.

-- Twenty-three-year-old Minnesota native Anni Rossi's voice breaks and dips kind of like a Jonas Brother's; that's not a knock, just a statement of fact. Her songs are a bit more obtuse (and less produced) than your typical JB anthem, for better or worse. Her 4AD debut LP, the Steve Albini-produced Rockwell, is out March 10. Listen to first single "Ecology" right here, right now. She'll hit the road next week.
