Cursive Side Project The Good Life on Tour

Ah, yes, autumn, when a young man's thoughts turn to side projects. Fresh off Cursive's triumphant Curiosa misadventures, frontman Tim Kasher now trains both barrels on The Good Life, his sadder, subtler, more sensitive incarnation. The group is presently intent on touring its collective ass off to support Album of the Year, the splendid new rock opera-ish full length that, for the record, really sounds very little like Faith No More.

So here's The Good Life's U.S. tour dates, with a trio of Japanese engagements to round things out. But in the event you hit one of these shows, Tim's got a couple requests:

1. In the event you've had a romantic liaison with Tim previously, don't ask if that song about the awful, deteriorating relationship (i.e. any of them) is about you. It's not. "It's fiction," Kasher insisted in a recent alt-weekly interview. "I never met anyone by throwing up in the ladies' room stall, but it's symbolic of the way a relationship starts. That's what writing is, you know?" We totally do! (This news story is a complete work of fiction, by the way.)

2. Kindly destroy some property to ease the tension. "It's always great when the crowd is really quiet and everyone seems to be really focused on it, but the more they're focused on what I'm singing the weirder it gets for me," Kasher noted. "I'm usually up there like, 'Oh God, will someone please break a glass or something!'"
