Man Man Shuffle Lineup to Prep for New Record, Tour

Get ready to coo with delight or howl like a bandicoot, for the mighty Man Man is back. And they've got news galore, so listen up. Although it's been less than a year since the krazy kollective released their debut album The Man in a Blue Turban With a Face, the Philadelphia boys have already finished a follow-up.

According to front man man Honus Honus, the tentatively-titled Six Demon Bag, which was recorded over three months in a Philly loft, is set to be released February 26 on Ace Fu. Remember, ridiculously spectacular things come to those who wait. The album introduces a few new band members into the fold, Men Men who, Honus Honus says, play the usual stuff like bass and synth, but also do double duty on "bedroom eyes" and "caveman throat." Uh oh, sounds like things could get ugly between the sheets.

The new Man Man converts include Sergei Sogay, Les Mizzle, and Christopher Powell (aka Pow Pow ) of Icy Demons and Need New Body fame. While Pow Pow and multi-instrumentalist Blanco will be absent from the touring lineup, the band will get help from two other newbies, Alejandro Borg and Moonbeam. Yes, Moonbeam, just like the hippie girl in PCU. Honus was also kind enough to pass along some biographical tidbits about these new Men Men:

"Sergei has a very nice beard, gentle eyes and exudes a natural, refreshing, unthreatening machismo. Alejandro is an accomplished ping pong player, has a penchant for shoestring headbands, and is a Scott Joplin enthusiast. Les Mizzle has a confessed weakness for Cajun gumbo and is from France. Moonbeam has a face."

If you aren't excited by the above descriptions alone, you have no soul. Come on, dude has A FACE! (Maybe even a blue turban!) Clearly, other people are jazzed about these kids, as Man Man are not only playing the Ace Fu showcase at this week's CMJ Music Marathon in New York City, but also Canada's Pop Montreal fest in early October. At the very least, take yourself and your friends to one of the shows below (more to be announced later) for an experience unlike any other. It starts with white suits and tribal rituals, and only gets better from there. Seriously.
