Death From Above 1979 Remix Record Due in November

As we all know, remixes ain't just for hip-hop and techno anymore. Even pummeling punk-metal bands can get in on the booty-moving action. Just ask the boys at Vice Recordings. Last month, Bloc Party's Silent Alarm received a makeover, and now it's Death From Above 1979's turn. Romance Bloody Romance, a collection of B-sides and remixes due out November 8.

Posting on the band's official message board, vocalist/drummer Sebastien Grainger described the album as "a compilation of a bunch of the stuff that was on the UK singles and such. plus two exclusive mixes. mstrkrft SEXY RESULTS and BLACK HISTORY MONTH by girl on girl (featuring final fantasy)."

MSTRKRFT is the remix team of DFA79 bassist Jesse F. Keeler and Al-P, the producer of You're a Woman, I'm a Machine. And while the names of Girl On Girl and Final Fantasy sound like any middle schooler's wet dream, they're actually just two geeky projects: Girl On Girl is the production team of Grainger and Leon Taheny; Final Fantasy is Owen Pallett, Arcade Fire string player and Toronto music scene stalwart. Taheny produced Has a Good Home, Final Fantasy's debut. Tracklist:

As we reported before, DFA79 will release three albums next year, the as-yet untitled album will be out in March, with two additional versions of the record to follow. They are also currently on tour supporting Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age, both groups who attract legions of fans who are into Final Fantasy (and probably girl on girl action, too).
