Damon Albarn Starts Band With Clash, Verve Members

According to various reports, including stories from both NME.com and the BBC, Blur/Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn has taken a break from his Danger Mouse-produced solo album for the full-band scene. And no, Graham Coxon isn't returning to Blur.

Albarn has started another project, this time with ex-Clash bassist Paul Simonon and former Verve guitarist Simon Tong. Drummer Tony Allen is also in the currently unnamed band.

__________ will release their first single in October, with an album, The Good the Bad and the Queen following in January 2007 on Parlophone/EMI. The disc, a concept record focusing on life in London, has already been completed. The band are expected to make live appearance number one in October as well.
