Mum Keeping Mum About Next Album No Longer
It's good to know that, despite their prolonged respite from recording, the lads and lasses of Múm haven't lost their affinity for lengthy titles and comma-separators. Go Go Smear The Poison Ivy, the Icelandic seven-piece's first album in three years, will be issued in the U.S. September 25 and the day before in the UK from FatCat Records.
The album is their first since the departure of Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir, perhaps better known to the Pitchfork readership as backwards- leaning Kria Brekkan. A single for album track "They Made Frogs Smoke 'Til They Exploded" will come August 28, backed with non-album track "The Amateur Show".
In the meantime, the band has a handful of live dates in the works, including a bi-coastal U.S. trek in the fall-- with more, we're assured, on the way.
Smear:
01 Blessed Brambles
02 A Little Bit Sometimes
03 They Made Frogs Smoke 'Til They Exploded
04 These Eyes Are Berries
05 Moon Pulls
06 Marmalade Fires
07 Rhuubarbidoo
08 Dancing Behind My Eyelids
09 School Song Misfortune
10 I Was Her Horse
11 Guilty Rocks
12 Winter (What We Never Were After All)
Túr:
06-02 Barcelona, Spain - Primavera Festival
06-09 Paris, France - Vilette Sonique Festival
07-17 Murcia, Spain - La Mer De Musicas Festival
07-24 Athens, Greece - Sync Festival
07-28 Moscow, Russia - Afisha Festival
08-19 Helsinki, Finland - Loop Festival
10-24 Los Angeles, CA - Orpheum Theatre
11-01 Chicago, IL - Logan Square Auditorium
11-09 New York, NY - St. Paul the Apostle (Wordless Music Series)
11-10 New York, NY - Society for Ethical Culture (Wordless Music Series)
