Pitchfork: Wilco Tour Kicks Off Tonight

Some people totally dug some A Ghost Is Born, some people were all like, "Dude, you know it's not Yankee Hotel Foxtrot." Even with its coveted "Best Recording Package" award at the Grammys, Wilco aren't quite resting on their laurels. So, after returning from Europe recently, the band will begin another U.S. tour tonight, including four shows in their hometown of Chicago that were just announced on the band's website. Before that four-night stand, Wilco will play seven shows leading up to Coachella, where they're playing on the first day of the festival with Bauhaus, Weezer, Bloc Party, M83, Mercury Rev, Sage Francis, Boom Bip...oh, you get the idea.

After Chicago, Wilco have plans at two smaller festival shindigs-- the Sasquatch Festival in George, Washington, and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, in, well, you know, Telluride. Plus, they'll play at that warmest lit of all venues, Red Rocks, outside of Denver.

Finally, things come to an end at Kansas' Wakarusa Festival, a mostly jam-oriented oriented, a la Bonnaroo. Interestingly, Jeff Tweedy's former Uncle Tupelo bandmate, Jay Farrar, will also be at the festival with his band, Son Volt. We ain't sayin' nothin' about a reunion... but this would be the time and the place. Be there:
