Long Blondes Cancel Dates After Guitarist Falls Ill
An illness has befallen Long Blondes lead guitarist Dorian Cox, forcing the Sheffield set to cancel all dates on their current tour itinerary through the end of July. In a statement posted on their MySpace blog earlier today, the Blondes write:
Long Blondes:
06-21 Istanbul, Turkey - One Love Festival
06-29 Glastonbury, England - Glastonbury Festival
07-03 London, England – O2 Arena
07-05 Milan, Italy – Pop Circus
07-07 Birmingham, England – NIA
07-18 Barcelona, Spain – Summercase Festival
07-19 Madrid, Spain – Summercase Festival
08-01 Paredes de Coura, Portugal – Paredes de Coura Festival
08-02 Kendal, England – Grate Farm (Kendal Calling)
08-08 Inverness, Scotland – Belladrum Festival
08-09 Ilkley, England – Moor Music Festival
08-16 Chelmsford, England – V Festival
08-17 Stafford, England – V Festival
On 9th June, Dorian was rushed to hospital after falling ill, and he is still in hospital in Sheffield in a serious condition. Because of this we will regrettably be canceling all our live appearances until the end of July (see below). Dorian is improving slowly and we will keep you updated on his condition. If you would like to leave a message on MySpace, Facebook, or through the website, we would be glad to pass them on to him when we visit.Despite the current spate of cancellations, the Blondes have a number of dates in August that remain on as planned for now. They'll also issue a UK single for Couples track "Guilt" via Rough Trade on June 30, and to celebrate, they want some canine portraiture.
Feel better soon Dors.
