With hundreds of artists spread across dozens of stages, four full days rife with activity, and set times that stretch past four in the morning, Bonnaroo may well be the granddaddy of the North American festival circuit. This year's festivities began modestly enough on Thursday, June 12, with a smattering of acts-- including Battles, Vampire Weekend, Superdrag, What Made Milwaukee Famous, the Sword, and MGMT-- entertaining those who rolled into Manchester, Tennessee nice and early. Things really picked up yesterday, with sets from My Morning Jacket, the Raconteurs, M.I.A. (who turned up after all), Rilo Kiley, the Fiery Furnaces, José González, !!!, Metallica, Chris Rock, and Drive-By Truckers.

Bonnaroo certainly won't be slowing down anytime soon, so stay tuned for more photo dispatches from the festival front.
