Kansas Senate

The Kansas Senate is the upper house of the Kansas Legislature. It includes forty state senators each representing one of forty districts; each of the districts has a population of at least 60,000 residents. Kansas state senators serve four-year terms and are without term limits so they may continue to run for office without limit.
Going into the 2009 legislative session, there are 31 Republican members of the state senator, and 9 Democratic members.
