| Johnson County tax increase vote slated
Johnson County, Iowa, voters will decide Nov. 4 whether property owners should spend $20 million on land preservation. The issue has been discussed since January, and on Thursday the Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve the ballot language and put the issue before voters in November. If approved, $20 million in bonds would be used to buy undeveloped land for parks, wetlands and conservation areas.
