Blitzen Trapper Reveal Furr-y Fourth Album
Nah, Iron Maiden haven't gone country or nothin'; that up there is the cover art for Furr, the forthcoming fourth LP from countrypolitan Pac Northwestern set Blitzen Trapper.
Furr was largely conceived in the spare moments between Blitzen Trapper's exhaustive tours in the wake of their 2007 breakthrough Wild Mountain Nation, with songwriter/producer Eric Earley finding some inspiration in a tottering old piano the band found abandoned in a hallway and made its own. These guys really don't let up with the rickety, rustic vibe, do they? Furr is due September 23 from Blitzen's relatively new home Sub Pop.
Blitzen Trapper will hit the California leg of the Download Festival this weekend, with a smattering of dates later on in the summer.
