Women they is, and women they ain't. Noisy all-male popsters Women-- not to be confused with the Girls, or the Ladies, or Women & Children, or MEN, or Men Women and Children, or even Brothers and Sisters-- have signed on with Jagjaguwar.

The label will release the band's self-titled debut album in the U.S. on October 7. The disc is already out in Women's native Canada from Flemish Eye, and it's due from Jagjaguwar in the UK come January 2009. Women was recorded by Chad VanGaalen on an arsenal of crappy old tape recorders in a handful unusual locales. Including a crawlspace. A tad unladylike, don't you think?

Women kick off a North American tour tomorrow night (September 26) in Saskatoon, and they'll head to Europe in mid-November. Along the way the band will play a bunch of shows with the aforementioned VanGaalen and also Dungen.
