After all his lyrical musings on life and love, TV on the Radio lead singer Tunde Adebimpe will actually play someone's lover in the upcoming movie Rachel Getting Married [via One for the Good Days]. Adebimpe's character is named "Sidney," and from the looks of this trailer, he appears to be marrying the titular character, played by Rosemarie DeWitt.

The top-billed actress in Rachel Getting Married is Anne Hathaway (The Devil Wears Prada, Get Smart, and of course, The Princess Diaries), who plays "Kym", a character IMDB describes as "a young woman who has been in and out of rehab for the past 10 years." Ah, the smell of Oscar.

Jonathan Demme directed Rachel Getting Married, and seeing as he also directed The Silence of the Lambs and Philadelphia, the chances of this movie ending well are not good. (It also looks like Demme pal Robyn Hitchcock, the subject of Demme's film Storefront Hitchcock, appears in the movie as the leader of the wedding band.)

TV on the Radio's new album Dear Science, comes out September 23 via Interscope in the U.S. and September 22 via 4AD elsewhere. Their tour begins in early September.
