Pitchfork.tv Partners With Independent Film Channel
So, we admit it: as a purely web-based entity, Pitchfork.tv is something of misnomer...that is, until now. Today we're thrilled to announce that our little video-centric baby will be making the leap from computer monitor to actual television screen, all thanks to an exclusive partnership with the Independent Film Channel (IFC).
On August 24, IFC will premiere "Pitchfork Airwaves on IFC", a brand new programming block packed with material from your favorite Pitchfork.tv series, including "Daytripping", "Juan's Basement", "Don't Look Down", "Interview", and more. With "Pitchfork Airwaves", IFC intends to air 10 Pitchfork.tv shorts each week culled from episodes of the aforementioned shows and tucked amid the network's 24-hours-a-day spate of "always, uncut" top-notch programming.
And no need to worry: Pitchfork.tv will continue producing loads of web content at our usual clip. It's just that as of August 24, you'll have the option to take some of it in on your TV set. What's more, the network will also house Pitchfork.tv content on its website, IFC.com.
Watch for episodes of "Daytripping", "Don't Look Down", and "Juan's Basement" upon the launch of "Pitchfork Airwaves on IFC", featuring such ace acts as the Hold Steady, Girl Talk, the Thermals, and HEALTH. Goodbye boring re-runs on other channels, hello Man Man recording dogs in bathtubs on IFC!
