My Brightest Diamond Sings in French on New EP
Billed as "a love letter to 1930s French music in the form of an EP," From the Top of the World is a brand new release from My Brightest Diamond. The song "From the Top of the World", from the A Thousand Shark's Teeth LP, is backed by a trio of covers of some of MBD main woman Shara Worden's favorite tunes en Français. There's a couple of Edith Piaf tunes ("Hymne Á L'Amour" and "Adieu Mon Coeur") as well as a Kurt Weil/Roger Fernay composition ("Youkali: Tango Habanera").
The set is due exclusively on iTunes September 23 from Asthmatic Kitty. (September 29 in the UK.)
My Brightest Diamond is on the road in Europe through October.
