Okkervil River Schedule More Shows
For a project with the cinematic sweep of Okkervil River's Stage Names/Stand Ins two-fer, the usual fanfare just ain't gonna cut it. Sure, we've heard a couple pre-release tunes from The Stand Ins-- due September 9 from Jagjaguwar-- but a project that so concerns itself with the trials and tribulations of Tinseltown could only be heralded by a movie trailer. You can scope out the Mike Angelo Torres-directed clip at Okkervil's website presently while you wait for the coming attraction:
Speaking of which, Jagjaguwar is now accepting pre-orders for The Stand Ins, and if you order between now and the release date, you'll get Stage Names and Stand Ins posters along with your order, as well as access to download the entire album by September 5.
Okkervil's upcoming tour plans just got a bit busier, as the band have added a mid-October date in Chicago and four new Scandinavian dates to close out the month. See dashing young auteur Will Sheff and the impressive supporting assemblage at the dates below.
