Optimo's Twitch Preps Debut LP as Betty Botox
Monikers abound on Mmm, Betty!, the debut LP from Betty Botox. Betty Botox is the chosen name for the re-edit project of Optimo's JD Twitch, and the LP sports nine such re-edits of some familiar floor-fillers and lesser known knockers, plus a guest reworking from Naum Gabo (a clever guise for Twitch's Optimo mate Jonnie Wilkes).
Mmm, Betty! is due August 25 on Endless Flight. In conjunction with its release, there will be three separate 12”s issued, broken down roughly by genre: one is "disco not disco," one is "Kraut/industrial/electronic," and one is "dub." Got all that?
Optimo, together and apart, have a mess of live engagements over the next few months.
Mmm, Betty!:
01 The Jellies: "Jive Baby on a Saturday Night"
02 Love of Life Orchestra: "Beginning of the Heartbreak"
03 The Residents: "Diskomo"
04 Severed Heads: "Greater Reward (Dub)"
05 Pankow: "Boys and Girls"
06 Carlos Peron: "Et"
07 Hawkwind: "Valium Ten"
08 Flying Rhythms: "Doragon Balls"
09 Zed: "Fremen" (Naum Gabo guest rework)
