The Nine Inch Nails machine keeps chugging along, Trent Reznor's summer tour in full swing with all of those amazing opening acts (as we reported earlier). Crystal Castles, A Place to Bury Strangers, White Williams, and Does It Offend You, Yeah? are among the bands NIN tapped for warm-up slots, but last night at the Gwinnett Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, it was hometown boys (and girl!) Deerhunter who got the party started. Looks like Bradford Cox kept it conservative in the clothing department-- switching his summer dress for a simple flannel shirt.
But Cox and co. weren't the only Atlantans to grace the stage: Reznor took the opportunity to welcome a former bandmate back-- Robin Finck, who toured with the Nails in the 1990s, but had more recently been playing guitar for Guns N' Roses.
In other Nine Inch Nails news, according to the L.A. Times, Reznor is in talks with HBO about turning his 2007 album Year Zero into a "two-season maxi-series." Reznor said, "It's the most exciting thing on the horizon, it's the thing that when I wake up in the morning it makes me say, 'God it would be cool if that happened'."
Check below for more photos, as well as the rest of the dates on NIN's summer tour and Deerhunter's fall itinierary with Times New Viking.
