Update: Jerry Finn Off Life Support, Not Deceased

Producer Jerry Finn-- best known around these parts for manning the boards on Morrissey's triumphant 2004 LP You Are the Quarry and the forthcoming Years of Refusal-- has been taken off life support following complications due to a brain hemorrhage he suffered in July, according to Billboard.com.

UPDATE: Though Jerry Finn has been taken off life support, he has not died. Pitchfork regrets the error.

Finn began his career as an engineer before shifting to the producer's chair in the mid-90s. He found success with his work with major-label punkers like Green Day, the Offspring, Rancid, and Blink-182. He had recently finished work Years of Refusal. On Saturday, his family made the decision to take the ailing Finn off of life support.
