New Order Deluxe Reissues Revealed
With New Order pretty much a thing of the past (at least according to Peter Hook), it's only proper that we take some time to revel in their past glories. And what more glorious period is there in New Order's past than their run of 1980s full-lengths? And what better way to revel than with the previously mentioned reissues of all five of those 1980s records?
On September 29 in the UK and November 11 in the U.S., Rhino will release remastered double-disc "Collector's Edition" reissues of New Order's 1981 debut Movement, 1983's Power, Corruption & Lies, 1985's Low-Life, 1986's Brotherhood, and 1989's Technique. The second disc of each reissue will contain rare and previously unreleased B-sides, remixes, and extended and alternate versions of tracks-- much as it was with last year's spate of deluxe Joy Division reissues. The packages' liner notes, meanwhile, will include interviews with the band members.
In other New Order news, the band apparently asked Hot Chip to cover Joy Division classic "Transmission" for an upcoming War Child International charity compilation.
