Cult Rock Flick <i>Fabulous Stains</i> Finally Comes to DVD

Get out your riot gearrr and start celebrating, because Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains is coming to DVD via Rhino tomorrow (September 16).

The film about three teenage girls who start a punk band stars Diane Lane and Laura Dern and features appearances from Steve Jones and Paul Cook of the Sex Pistols, Paul Simonon of the Clash, Fee Waybill of the Tubes, Black Randy of Black Randy and the Metrosquad, Ray Winstone, and Christine Lahti. The Rocky Horror Picture Show producer and Up in Smoke director Lou Adler directed the 1981 film.

Though this is The Fabulous Stains' first time on DVD or VHS, it has inspired quite a few folks over the years thanks to television showings. According to a press release, Bikini Kill drummer Tobi Vail called it "the most realistic and profound film I have ever seen."

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains will be the first title in a new Rhino series called Rock 'N' Roll Cinema.
