Common and N.E.R.D. Join Up for North American Tour
Common's summer has been a lot less Invincible than expected. In fact, the Chicago rapper's next album might as well be called Invisible Summer for the way it has disappeared from both release schedules and the public consciousness. Even the July digital release of the "Universal Mind Control"/ "Announcement" single didn't spark much excitement. But what better way to drum up interest again than with a tour of North America? And with N.E.R.D., no less! [Via Rock & Roll Daily]
Common and N.E.R.D. will kick off the "Invincible Sounds of Summer" tour together in Houston on September 9. In addition to the joint jaunt, both acts have a few headlining dates in September and October. On September 27, Common will perform at a benefit for his Common Ground Foundation, taking place at the House of Blues in Chicago. The Roots, Talib Kweli, Pharrell, will.i.am, Bilal, and Marsha of Floetry are also scheduled to appear.
While Common's Invincible Summer has yet to appear, N.E.R.D. have their recently released Seeing Sounds to support.
