Strategy, Greg Davis, Jel Remix I Heart Lung
In a few weeks, Asthmatic Kitty will release Interoceans, a collection of four heavily overdubbed and reworked improvisations from new AK signing I Heart Lung, aka the duo of guitarist Chris Schlarb and drummer Tom Steck. The disc, which also features Wilco guitarist Nels Cline on guitar, electric sitar, and electronics, is due on CD and digitally from the label September 23, with the vinyl due in limited edition from Thor's Rubber Hammer Productions.
But right this instant, should you make your way right here, you can get yourself a digital copy of Interoceans Remixed for the price of nothing. Remixed features underground MCs like Awol One and Radioinactive and knob-twiddlers like Strategy, Greg Davis, and Anticon's Jel having their way with I Heart Lung's music. Boy, are you gonna look silly when your pal throws Interoceans in the car later next month and you start rapping along.
Despite the barrage of releases, I Heart Lung have but a single show coming up: September 19, at Santa Fe's High Mayhem Emerging Arts Festival.
Interoceans:
01 Interoceans I (Upwelling)
02 Interoceans II (Overturning)
