Annuals Prepare to Unleash Second Album
Joy, a new Annuals album. Such Fun, the band's full-length follow-up to 2006's Be He Me, is due October 7 from Columbia Records offshoot Canvasback Music.
Much will be made of the album's artwork, lifted from late "The Joy of Painting" host/human dandelion Bob Ross. In a statement on the choice of cover, the band notes, "It seems like all of the happy, lovely places he paints always have a bit of sad loneliness and isolation to them too, and some of the songs on our new album can definitely relate to that duality." From this, we gather the album was recorded in half an hour, with oils, in a soothing tone of voice.
Annuals will embark on their previously reported tour with Minus the Bear on October 8, the day after their new disc arrives.
