Electronic/pop one-man show Vice Cooler will offer up his next album as Hawnay Troof tomorrow (September 9). The follow-up to 2006's Dollar and Deed is called Islands of Ayle and it comes out via Retard Disco.
Islands of Ayle features contributions from a ton of guests, including Randy Randall (No Age), Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu), Mary Pearson (High Places), Jenny Hoyston (Erase Errata), Carla Bozulich (Evangelista), Brezel Goring (Stereo Total), and Annie Lewandowski (the Curtains).
Not only are all those folks on the album proper, but a limited edition of the record features a bonus disc of remixes from Xiu Xiu, the Soft Pink Truth (aka Matmos member and Pitchfork contributor Drew Daniel), the Mae Shi, Lucky Dragons, Ssion, and Hawnay Troof himself, among others.
Hawnay Troof will release another remix album on Halloween, this one fan-powered. It's called Remix Projection, and fans are invited to contribute their remixes of Islands of Ayle's "Connection" and "The Gods Are Crazy" to it. Full details of the project are here.
Finally, Hawnay Troof is currently in the midst of a U.S. tour, and he also has dates this fall in Australia and New Zealand (as part of the traveling Parklife festival) as well as Europe.
