Bloc Party Unleash "Talons" on New Single
After the whiplash-inducing announcement and nearly immediate release of Intimacy, Bloc Party are kinda sorta taking their time with next single "Talons".
The Paul Epworth-produced tune is due in single form October 20 from Wichita in the UK, where fans can opt for a CD or a pair of 7"s with remixes from XXXChange, Frankmusik, Mr. Epworth's Phones alter ego, Midfield General, and the Moody Boyz.
"Talons" is also among a few extra tracks set to accompany the physical release of Intimacy (due October 27 in the UK from Wichita and October 28 in the States from Atlantic). If you already downloaded Intimacy on either side of the pond, you'll get a digital copy of "Talons" for free, and the song will automatically come with all future download purchases of the album from Bloc Party's website. Got all that? Great.
Bloc Party will spend their night in Calgary, with a few more Canadian dates to come before they head back to the UK. Oh, and one in New York City, too: a free show at an as-yet-undetermined location in the city. Watch the silly video announcing the show here, and check out this IMEEM contest if you want a chance at a couple guest list spots. UPDATE: the free Bloc Party show will take place at Roseland Ballroom, and you can RSVP for it right here.
