Opeth Kick Off Tour With High on Fire, Nachtmystium
Not all metal bands are the same, but you'd be forgiven for thinking so considering how many of the best ones are touring together this fall.
Today (September 16), Swedish baroque metalheads Opeth kick off their grand North American tour, featuring gobs of dates with Oakland's High on Fire, Savannah, Georgia's Baroness, Chicago's Nachtmystium, and Berlin's the Ocean. It's an international metal melting pot!
Opeth are supporting their new album Watershed on the tour, while High on Fire support last year's Death Is This Communion and Nachtmystium support this year's Assassins: Black Meddle, Pt. 1, leading us to call this the "Watershed Death Assassins" tour. Or "Water Is Black". Or maybe "Shed This Part"? The combinations are (not literally) endless.
In addition to their dates together, Opeth and Nachtmystium also have ample shows apart this fall, with the latter sharing many bills with Wolves in the Throne Room.
