My Bloody Valentine Co-Curated ATP Kicks Off Today

For the next three days, a world class coterie of experimental rockers will take to Kutshers Country Club in Monticello, New York to make one hell of a racket. And what for, you may ask? Why, ATP New York, the latest All Tomorrow's Parties throwdown, co-curated by ATP and My Bloody Valentine.

In addition to the first My Bloody Valentine gig on North American shores in forever, there's the rest of that rather nice lineup (and these pretty neat additions), with one exception: Los Angeles' Autolux have cancelled, as guitarist/vocalist Greg Edwards is expecting a child. Well, not him. His wife. But you see why he might not want to be hanging around with this wily bunch of rock'n'rollers with something like that on the bubble.

ATP New York, it should be noted, is way sold out, but that doesn't mean you can't get in on the action from the comfort of your own undershorts. Jersey City's own WFMU is broadcasting and streaming live some of the proceedings on Saturday and Sunday. On board thus far are sets from Yo La Tengo, Low, Dinosaur Jr., Polvo, Harmonia, Mercury Rev, A Silver Mt. Zion, Lightning Bolt, Om, Growing, Bob Mould, Wooden Shjips, Lilys, Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Spectrum, and more may very well be lined up by the time you read this.

Oh, and please report back from the games room hosted by Shellac's Steve Albini. Because WTF.
